The awareness about health related matters is increasing very fast these days and that is why people from all over the world are becoming more and more concerned about various health related matters. As a matter of fact, good health and sound fitness are the basic requirements of the human life and people are now realizing this fact more seriously. That is why health tips are getting more importance from various sources. By the way your refrigerator and kitchen cabinet bursts with cooking ingredients that can ease a clutchful of medical conditions. Although there are as many home remedies as there are people on this earth, I will introduce you on a daily basis to only those ones which have a semblance of scientific basis to them. Many of these home remedies have been prescribed and utilised by medical professionals themselves. You are more than welcome to post your health or fitness tips on the page so that others out there suffering from various ailments can benefit and derive cure God willing!!!

    SUNBURN?

    There are no ways to cure sunburn, but you can apply some remedies as a sunburn relief or prevention of one

    To prevent sunburn and sunburn itching and peeling, you can try this home remedy for sunburn:
    . Peel and mash 3-4 apricots.
    . Apply the mix on your face and leave on for 15 minutes.
    . Wash off with luke warm water.

    Once the skin is red and irritated, you can be sure that the skin has suffered damage. Take a long shower adjusting the water to almost cool temperature. Once you are done taking a shower, gently tap it to absorb the water, and do not rub it as this will increase the irritation.

    Yogurt: You can either soak a cloth in yogurt, or simply apply it on the area affected by sunburn. Leave it on until it is dry (which is likely to happen soon after you placed it as the skin exerts high temperature). Rinse it off with cool water and repeat.

    Cucumber and baking soda:
    Place chilled cucumber slices on the spots affected by sunburn. Take a bath in warm water in which you have previously added 2 cups of regular baking soda. Baking soda will neutralize any possible infections and prevent further irritation. Cucumber is an ingredient that can be used for preparation of a facial peel recipe that is recommended as a sunburn home remedy as it nourishes the skin, and stops the inflammation.

    Apple Cider Vinegar Spray
    Fill a spray bottle with apple cider vinegar (do not substitute white vinegar it won't work) and spray on sunburned skin. Alternatively, pour cider on a washcloth and apply to skin. Rinse with cool water.

    Strawberry Mash
    Mash ripe strawberries and apply directly to sunburned skin.

  7. WHAT ARE THEY REPUTED TO CURE?

    ANTI-AGEING:
    Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly arrests the advances of old age.

    Take:
    4 spoons of honey,
    1 spoon of cinnamon powder and
    3 cups of water and boil.
    Drink 1/4 cup, 3 to 4 times a day.

    It also helps to keep the skin soft and reduces wrinkles

    ARTHRITIS:
    Mix two teaspoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder into a cup of hot water. Take morning and night. Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. It is said that if taken regularly even chronic conditions can be cured.

    BAD BREATH:
    Gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water. Your breath should stay fresh all day.

    BLADDER INFECTIONS:
    Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water and drink. This should kill off any bacteria in the bladder.

    CHOLESTEROL:
    To reduce cholesterol by on average 10%, take two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of cooled green tea. It is claimed that if this mixture is taken 3 times per day chronic cholesterol can be cured.

    COLDS:
    Take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days. This process will cure most chronic coughs and colds and help to unblock the sinuses.

    In his work on Prophetic Medicine, the great scholar Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned the health benefits of cucumbers. He quoted the Prophetic Hadith relating that the Messenger of Allah (saw) used to eat qiththa (cucumber) with rutab (fresh dates). [Tirmidhi At'ima 37]

    Ibn al-Qayyim said the cucumber has the following health benefits:

    -Quenches thirst
    -Calms an inflamed stomach
    -Beneficial for pains of the bladder
    -Its seeds are diuretic
    He also said that cucumbers should be eaten with something like dates, raisins or honey, as these will rectify its negative effects on the stomach.

    Cucumber Facts

    Cucumbers (Cucumis sativus) belong to the same family as watermelon, zucchini, pumpkin, and other types of squash. There are main two varieties of cucumber; those that are grown to be eaten fresh (slicing cucumbers), and those that are cultivated to make pickles, such as gherkins.

    The flesh of the cucumber is composed of about 95% of water, but it also contains Vitamin C and Caffeic acid, which is a naturally occurring compound shown to be a cancer inhibitor. The skin of the cucumber is rich in fiber and contains a variety of beneficial minerals including silica, potassium and magnesium.

    The silica in cucumber is an essential component of healthy connective tissue, which includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and bone.

    The high water content of cucumber makes it naturally hydrating, and cucumbers are commonly used for various types of skin problems, including swelling under the eyes and sunburn.

    The two compounds present in cucumbers; abscorbic acid (Vitamin C) and caffeic acid, prevent water retention, which may explain why cucumbers applied topically are often helpful for swollen eyes, burns and dermatitis.

    Home Remedies for Sore Eyes Use a clean and warm compress on the eyes for 2-3 minutes for a soothing effect.

    *An eye pack made from chilled cucumber slices may also be very beneficial.

    *One of the popular home remedies for sore eyes is placing cotton balls dipped in rose water over the eyes for a few minutes. This is very effective in reducing inflammation as well as discomfort.

    *Wash your eyes with warm water or milk several times a day for relief.

    *Grate a potato, and use the raw scraped pieces directly on the eye lids. Or thin slices of raw potato can be used too. This also helps with sore and the inflammation of eyes.

    *Aloe Vera gel is known to be beneficial for many ailments and sore eyes are one of them. Soak a clean piece of cloth in aloe vera juice and wipe your eyes with it.

    *Drink the juice of Indian gooseberry amla, with a teaspoon of honey added to it, twice on a daily basis. Indian gooseberry effectively fights the infection and boosts immunity naturally.

    *Coriander is just as effective in treating sore eyes. Make a decoction using some coriander and a little water and use this decoction as an eye wash. It helps a lot in relieving the burning sensation as well as pain.

    *Extract juice of vegetables such as carrot, spinach and parsley. Drink these juices twice a day for quick relief.

    *The intake of vitamin A and omega-3 fatty acid rich foods in the diet also helps in treating sore eyes. Other factors that determine the health of your eyes are maintaining hygiene; avoid rubbing your eyes, wearing sunglasses and resting your eyes to get rid of eye sores promptly.
