Passing winds, releasing gas or in crude terms 'farting' is very much a natural human activity due to the foods that we eat. However, is it socially acceptable for someone to just release his gas loudly in a public space? I have discovered that there is a difference in opinion on this subject matter and it certainly varies from country to country and from one culture to the other. So what exactly sparked this topic?...I had a British patient that came to the window last night and whilst I was trying to explain to him how to take his medication correctly, I was kind of interrupted by this ppppppprrrrrr sound..(farting sound)...and I then start again trying to explain and again there is this ppppppprrrr sound and the funny bit is that whilst I wanted to burst out laughing, the man at the window was very much unperturbed....So I'm wondering perhaps in British culture its pretty much alright to fart aloud in public....I decided to do a google search on this subject matter and I found some hilarious articles...In a recent article, the Malawian government has passed a bill that makes farting in public a misdemeanour...The people of the country were up in arms that the government has time to pass ridiculous bills whilst there are more serious issues at hand like poverty that needs to be addressed.
Despite their love of costly clothing and cuteness, it’s a well known fact that Japanese girls simply fart for fun, regularly producing bottom burps like burly builders.A practice that sadly doesn’t decrease after marriage either, with this in-depth and presumably scientific study finding that a staggering 43% of Japanese husbands had to suffer the sound of their partner’s pumping in just the first year of marriage alone...So what are your thoughts on this one LOL?
